Free Christmas

This past Sunday I was approached by a lady at church asking about the Free Christmas this year. She was kind enough to collect items for donation. This knowledge got me to thinking...how many other people have been collecting items to donate to my Free Christmas?

Many are not aware that it takes 3.5 months minimum to have this one day event. If you are wondering why it takes so long... well there is a donated building to FIND, fliers to create and print, distribution of fliers and other advertisements to circulate. Not to mentions the tons of emails that I send out to recruit help for various needs. Once that is done, then there is the logistics of transporting the donations to one location, sorting, washing, hanging, boxing... (all of which is done mainly by me) Well I could go on and on however you get the idea. Since this is something that takes more time that I have, we will not be hosting this event. Something More Events has hosted it for 2 years and each year we helped hundreds of people. It was such a blessing to help so many families.

So if you have donations for my Free Christmas, call the Salvation Army or similar organization. I know the SA has a truck that will come and pickup items from your home. Can't get any easier than that!!!
