Bitter Sweet... that is life! There always seem to be so much going on, doesn't it? Feelings of being overwhelmed and not good enough, house is a disaster and/or never completing the 'to-do' lists at work and home. Always something going on and never any down time. Life sure is hard at times, especially when you lose the people that uplift you on a weekly basis. That was Bro. Jim... he "held the door open" and was an usher at our church. He spoke to each person that came in and shook their hand or in mine and several others' case... gave us a hug that meant so much. He was a talker and had a heart of gold. A beacon in our church and community. He held the door open. He would go to the retirement home and preach to those who couldn't come to church. So much meaning in those words... he held the door open. Not just literally, the door of his heart was open for us as well. In a simple task, on each Sunday... he held the door open. As tears flood my eyes, I just want to say... What an example he has been to all of us by holding the door OPEN.
He will be missed so much, just as his wife has been and will continue to be missed. Heaven has definitely gained a 'doer', a witness, a star.

Book Review: Enchanted...
"Enchanted" by Nora Roberts
This is the last book in a series of four. "The Donovan Legacy"
"Lovely, guileless Rowan Murray was drawn to darkly enigmatic Liam Donovan with a power she'd never imagined possible. But before Liam could give Rowan his love, he first had to trust her with the incredible truth about himself and his family."
A great way to end the series. The 'black sheep' out of the family -shows up-. Although the book was a great read, I was starting to become disappointed when I was half done and there was no real mention of the other characters in the other books. When out of nowhere... there they were. I loved the cook out scene. I could see it with my mind's eye. I enjoyed reading the progression of the families and seeing how it worked out. Another happy ending book with a little twist was perfect. I love the unexpected happening! Disappointed that the series if over is my only complaint! This is a must read series if you are interested in the fairy tale coming to life. *smiles*

Book Review: Charmed...
"Charmed" by Nora Roberts
This is the third book in a series of four.
"Her legacy had been as much a curse as a blessing, so Anastasia Donovan had learned to keep it hidden. But when single dad Boone Sawyer swept into her heart, she longed to reveal everything despite her fear of the consequences. Then fate stepped in..."
Another lovely book! The guy is from Indiana... too cool. She is a woman scorned and her heart is on lock down. It was a great book full of twist and turns. I love the back story too. Also it includes the other characters and where they are at in this stage, so it is cool to continue reading about their life. Babies being born ... I found the Epilogue a very satisfying end.
On a side note: I am very interested to read how this fourth book will come in to play... seeing that a new cousin will be introduced.

A quickie????
Ya see, I was all excited and worked up!
I get to the bookstore and what do I find???? I closed sign. Not just the sorry we are closed until tomorrow... but the CLOSED for good sort of sign!!! I was about in tears!
I have the 2 books read and I was really, I mean REALLY looking forward to trading the two in for the other 2 that was in the series. I was very disappointed that the guy talked me out of buying the 1 book and buying the other two. Maybe that is why he is out of business??? IDK... So I took my sad face home Friday and sulked all weekend!
Then I remembered... we have a library! *hearts rising up* I logged online to my account and reserved the book I wanted. I will be picking it up after work today.
So in approximately 30 min, I will resume my excitement!!!

Book Review: Entranced...
"Entranced" by Nora Roberts
This is the second book in a series of four.
"He was certainly a fraud, and she wasn't about to let him exploit her friends' vulnerability. But fiercely protective Mary Ellen Sutherland was desperate to find a missing baby and had run out of leads. So, reluctantly, the dubious private investigator agreed to enlist Sebastian Donovan's help. Soon she had to admit-grudgingly- that this beguiling mystery man had some pretty remarkable gifts, including his extraordinary ability to penetrate her tough facade and awaken her heart."
Wow, this was awesome. It was like I was there. They stayed in the Doubletree Hotel, one of my favorites. There were also other things that were familiar about the book. It brought tears to my eyes. Very emotional book from cover to cover. It was like I really couldn't put it down. I thought about the last scene as I slept at night. An amazing book, to say the least! Highly recommended... I can't wait to start the next book, Charmed!

Book Review: Captivated...
"CAPTIVATED" by Nora Roberts
This is the first book in a series of four.
"His interest in her was purely professional...or so he told himself. Nash Kirkland had sought out the alluring Morgana Donovan to help him research his latest screenplay, though the hardheaded skeptic didn't believe for a minute she was what she professed to be. But, as Morgana revealed herself to him, Nash found himself falling under her bewitching spell. Nash had never trusted his feelings and always kept them in check. So how could he be sure the irresistible passion he felt for Morgana was real and not just some conjurer's trick?"
I loved, loved, LOVED this book. A combination of magic and reality... perfect! Some steamy scenes... I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the second book, Entranced!

Dear Dr. Seuss, I am not sure I would agree.
"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
– Theodore Seuss Giesel
Can things really be as simple as a children's book? I mean, come on. There are times when a person says what they feel and those whom we care about most... does mind!
"Be who you are..."? seriously!?!?!? I doubt people want to really KNOW who we are inside. We all have the dark sided thoughts. Ya know, those selfish little bits and pieces that often are push down so far that no one will see. Who are you anyways? Are we what we think? eat? speak? What makes a person who they are? Is it circumstance, family, experiences or are we born with the attitude we have as an adult?
"...say what you feel"? Again, seriously?!?!?!? From my experience, people do not really want to know how you feel about their situation. Even when they are seeking knowledge, they want the information to lean in their favor.
Just thinking out loud...

FROM GOALS TO PRIORITY #1
Take your #1 goal and make it your priority in life. That's how you get ahead. Accept that you will need to sacrifice some other goals in order to achieve your priority goal. It's a much better approach than trying to achieve 5 big goals at the same time. ~ Craig Ballantyne
My GOALS
Being at a healthy weight.
Helping Kris fulfill her dreams.
Being an active part at school functions.
*these seem stupid*
Being active in Kris' life at school and other areas.
Raising Ethan as long as I need to.
*scratches head and thinks, are you kidding me*
*this is stuff I have to sacrifice?* THIS IS HARD!!!
OK, try again! Goals are things I want to strive for.
#1 : Being at a healthy weight.
Becoming a trainer to help others.
Getting a college degree.
Singing with a group/band/choir.
Traveling to all US states.
So daily, I will give up some time, either at lunch or after work, to exercise. The 4days that Chad works, seems to be working out for now. So I am sacrificing my dreams of being anything other than HEALTHY. Once I accomplish this, then I will move on to another goal.
I have been blogging. Video Logging that is! Maybe, I will start uploading them here.

Summer???
I can't believe Summer is quickly coming to an end! Our kids have started school. How crazy is that? It seems like the summer has flown by, but then again... every year it does.
Does anyone have a trick on how to SLOW summer down?
