Reading...

Well another book is down. A FAMILY FOR TORY by Margaret Daley.

This book is about healing hearts. Tory is a 30 something lady who owns a riding ranch. This ranch was willed to her from her aunt. It helps disabled children and immediately made me think of one of my closest friends, Jamie.

Tory meets a wonderful girl by the name of Mindy who is recovering from a debilitating car wreck that took her mom's life. Since her dad was driving when the other car ran the stop sign, he does feel very guilty for the death and the issues that his daughter has to deal with daily.

Due to the love that Tory and Slade felt for Mindy, they decided to get married. He deals with his guilt from the accident. In chapter Four, we finally find out that Tory was raped four years prior and is still dealing with those emotional issues. So they don't have a typical marriage. They sleep in different rooms and interact as friends. They build a trust between each other and do it all for Mindy.

After several things happen, Tory is forced to face her past and confide in her husband about what happened. Slade also turns to God for help with his guilt and starts attending church with is wife and daughter. By Chapter 12, they both realize they are falling in love and by the end of the book they are able to deal with the past and finally move forward into a real marriage.

Movie Night!

Earlier this week, the family gathered in the main room to watch a movie. We choose the perfect night to watch this thiller. The clouds rolled in and the thunder boomed as we pressed play on the DVD. A half hour into this scary-'based on a true story' movie the storm came and the tornado watch was issued. So the scene was truly set! The box off hit was about a teen boy who had cancer. Frequent treatments meant long drives to the hospital and nauseated reaction from the boy. His mom spent her time transporting him to and from appointments and taking care of the family while his dad worked to support all that was going on in their life. The mom finds a house closer to the hospital to rent for the duration of the treatment and moves the family in. Dad commutes on the weekends to visit the family and works during the week. Just as the real life weather is starting to threaten us, we learn that this house is a former funeral home... complete with the basement used for 'prepping' the bodies. Now it is typical for a teenage boy to want to make the basement his 'pad'.... and this boy is no different. However he starts to see things... people... disfigured people at times. He assumes it is the treatments causing hillucinations. After confiding in his cousin, they reseach the house at a local library. The information they find is unbelievible and it unravels a mystery of screaming events. The special effects were great and the thought that this is based on true things makes me want to avoid Connecticut. In the end, the spirits are put to rest and the teen is miraculously healed from his cancer.... Great to see a happy ending!

I give this movie... 4 screams UP!

Random thoughts

HAIR I wished my hair would grow quicker. Early in the pregnancy, I was so nauseated and frustrated with hormones that I just got it all cut off. Now I wished it was long enough to pull back into a ponytail. LOL

SLEEP I am not able to get much sleep at night. Between emptying my bladder and rolling from side to side, I feel like I am awake more than I am asleep. I am able to sleep later since I am on bed rest and I know that has helped so much. Before I was on bed rest for PreE, I wouldn't get a lot of sleep then I would have to work all day. I tried to rest on lunch and sometime I could barely make it through the day. I was so tired driving home. Now I am able to rest more even if I am still having issues sleeping.

EMO I am so emotional. Some days I can't even think straight. Straight = rational. I mean, who really cries because they can't eat cookies before dinner? apparently this preggo lady! That is only one instance I care to share publicly.

Not the best...

KNOCKED UP
I really like watching Grey's casts, so when one of the members was in a movie... I wanted to see it. I have to say I do not recommend it. A lot of vulgar talk and implications. There were a few moments that I laughed and I could relate to the plot; however the movie over all wasn't worth the postage Netflix spent to mail it to me.

Two thumbs DOWN...

Movie Night!

HE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU

This is a good movie over all. Not one I would buy; however I did have a good laugh through out. I found myself frustrated at the married guy and single girl who liked him. I also seemed to connect with the some of the characters and what they were doing. (connect meaning I remember doing some of the same things when I was single)

My daughter and adopted daughter watched the movie with me. They found it funny too. They also found me funny adding commentaries on the actions of a few characters. (mainly on the married guy that was cheating)

So whatcha' been up to?

Reading.

"HIS UPTOWN GIRL" BY Gail Sattler. Men of Praise series.

Great little book about a guy named Bob who owns a mechanic business with a childhood friend. Bob is an italian, chistian drummer who has family dinners with his parents and sibling. Oh, by the way, he owns a Harley. I found this out 1/2 way through the book.

It also is about a girl named Georgette "George" who is from a very high-class family. Her mom left when she was young, her sister is married and she lives with her father, housekeeper and other hired hands. She gets a nice allowance from her father to help with charity stuff and attend fund-raisers. She recently started attending church on Sunday and her father is opposed to it. He feels it is a crutch for the weak and she is embarrassing him by going. She does have a hobby, mechanical.

As Georgette stops in Bob's shop to pick up some part he had ordered for her, she realizes they are looking to hire a part-time book keeper and a part-time mechanic. She immediately see the opportunity to get out from her father's thumb and do something she enjoys. So she applies for BOTH positions. He decides to hire her after she identifies a mechanical issue with a customer's car.

Georgette doesn't tell her father of her new job and eventually it gets her into trouble... ok trouble really isn't a strong enough word for it. It get her dis-owned! She finds herself with no place to live, no car, no money and no friends. She turns to her boss and he helps her (while falling in love with her). He lets her live in a garage apartment that his cousin lived in the previous year. He teaches her how to cook, clean and all the things typically people learn. He also invites her to church with him and she enjoys it.

There are burnt dinners, motorcyle rides, puking from too much pine sole and a girl begging for him to kiss her. With many struggles along the way, they both fall for each other. In the end, he is hesitant since he is her boss. After a big nug that causes him to re-evaluate his avoidance, they commit to the love that they feel and decide to get married.

I give this book two thumbs up!!!

Isaiah 40:29
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

Finally posting...

I can't believe it has been almost 2 weeks since I posted. I have logged on and started to post several times; however I wasn't sure how much I wanted to reveal in those moments... so I obviously chose to post nothing.

After several tests, my two wonderful doctors have established I do have PreEclampsia. This can be a dangerous thing. I am on bed rest now and taking it easy. I am a "on the go" type of person so this is a very new concept to me. LOL
My goal is to keep the boys in-utero for as long as I can without my body reacting in a drastic measure. The thought of them being born too soon is frightening for all parties involved. This is enough to stress me out; however I am trying to lean on my faith and the prayer of many to get me though this day by day wait. I am so grateful that the bed rest is helping keep the negative symptoms at bay and allowing me to be home and not in the hospital. The way the doctors have put it, I can go from mild preE to severe preE over night. So keeping that in mind helps me focus on a stress free life. Yes there are still stressors and as you can read in my recent posts.. more in the past month has surfaced and really gotten to me. Yet I am so concerned about these boys that not a lot matters, than keeping my mind calm and them inside to GROW!

This past Monday was my ultrasound and check up. M&M got to be there finally. This is the 1st time I have seen the boys' dad and sister since the day of the transfer on March 15th and the 1st time I have seen the boys' mom since April 9th. It was a great experience for them to finally meet the boys via u/s and to see them kicking and interacting with each other. The appointment was long however they wanted to also do my preE evaluation in the same visit. Once the monitoring was complete, the doctor came in and spoke with us. She was great at answering all the questions M&M had regarding the issue at hand. After the appointment, we enjoyed dinner at Texas Roadhouse where we exchanged gifts. I had got them each a small gift and they also had bought me a few things along with my daughter a few things for school. One of the items for me was a hand made necklace that M & her daughter made. It is beautiful and reverible... what more could a gal want. So Beautiful!!!
