The Moderation Muscle Building Exercise

My moderation muscle is building strength.

Example. On the last day of our vacation, we purchased 2 lbs of home-made fudge. I had some the day we bought it, the following Saturday and Sunday (on the road days). Since we have been home (12 days) I have had a total of 4 cubic inches (yes I measured it) over the almost 2 week span. I am really happy about that and happy that the fudge is no longer around!

The key to building strength is to work the muscle and then rest it. We can't be good all the time, so we need to make sure we allow some down time so we arent over working this delicate muscle and end up with .... an injury!
ps. now there are other temptations... carrot cake and chocolate turtles (from my birthday). I gave several away yesterday. Maybe I should freeze the turtles for a treat, later?

Planks...

Since May 2008 I have been doing this exercise every other day with Chad. I can definately see some definition in his abs! I am happy to report that my quality of this exercise has also improved. I love this exercise. It is hard, and makes me sweat and shake if held really long, however that is the best part. Because I know I am pushing my body to performance... Try it for 20 seconds!

My Birthday Eve...

I had Zumba last night! I was so tired after all the bike conditioning we have been doing, however I made it through the 1 hr session. My body is begging for rest, yet some how I keep pushing it for performance. I will rest on the weekend... or will I?

Thursday is my 35th birthday and I am really excited about that! My plan is to reward my body with some loving exercise and plenty of healthy foods... with a little bit of cake. woohoo! After all, you can't have a birthday with out CAKE. lol Or can you? Can you really turn another year older without the indulgence of a chocolate feast? I use the word feast lightly, btw. No feast or famine here... just a simple slice of a very special, hubby-made, cake! After... I work out and get my metabolisium soaring to high speed!

Updates on Competition Goals

Goal Progress
I am currently down 6 lb from original weight.

I am currently 14 lb above the target weight.

The deadline for my goal is 38 days (5 weeks, 3 days) away.

To meet my goal I need to lose about 2.58 lb per week.

Although losing over two pounds a week is highly unlikely, I am very positive in my thinking and motivated to do the best I can do. I am doing several things differently to obtain this goal. As stated in a previous blog, I have tighten up my calorie to a 1400-1500 range. I started out with just doing the TT every other day. Occassionally I did Zumba, however now I plan on doing Zumba at least once a week. I have changed things up and am now doing intervals on the bike, as well as walk/jog. This is a long term adventure and I plan on reaching this goal in time. When I reach this goal... (goal 1 of 3)... I will reward my efforts with either a detox spa wrap or a canoeing trip depending on the time of year and money available.

Step Up2... Are you Stepping Up to do what you need to do?

I just love this movie about a girl trying to do what she loves at any cost. The main reason I like it is because I really want her body. No I am not crazy... I wished I had her body. Yes I know she is way younger than I am, however a girl can dream can't she? I want to look sexy and hot, just the way she does when she is dancing in the rain with everything she has got. This picture is from the end of the movie. She had overcome alot to get to this point and now she is just doing all she can to make her dream come true. That is me... I am in the middle of the movie in my life. Still struggling and over coming obsticles... but one day... ONE DAY I will be the hot chick dancing in the rain that everyone else is looking at and thinking, I want to be her!!!
